For the first time, the LIP Conference (Light Interaction with Particles) and the LII Workshop (Laser Induced Incandescence) will be held together in a single event, fostering discussions and collaborations on optical diagnostics of particles through complementary techniques. This conference is also fully open to the ELS (Electromagnetic and Light Scattering) community: there are plans to merge the two conferences in the future.
We are delighted to announce the participation of our esteemed guest speakers:
• Matthew BERG, Kansas State University, USA. • Lei BI, Zhejiang University, China. • Kyle DAUN, University of Waterloo, Canada. • Nikolai KHLEBTSOV, Russian Academy of Sciences, Russia. • Fengshan LIU, National Research Council, Canada, • Jianqi SHEN, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, China, • Christopher SORENSEN, Kansas State University, USA.
Papers presented at the conference will be featured in a special issue of the Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy and Radiative Transfer.
The call for nominations for the Elsevier/JQSRT Peter C. Waterman and Richard M. Goody awards is now open. The awards will be presented at the LIP/LII 2026 or at the next ELS-XXII (Saariselkä, Lapland, Finland, on January 11-15, 2027). Don’t hesitate to postulate!
